What to do when there is no school.

Well the kids were out of school for two weeks for Christmas break. They really liked their Wii games. Cassidy got Barbie Horse Adventures, Thomas got Super Mario Bros. Wii, and the family got Wii Sports Resort. So they had something to do at least. But I needed a day with out TV and video games.

So thanks to Aunt Jackie's gifts, we had all we needed for at least two days free from electronics.

So thank you and the kids really thank you. Mom was in a good mode these days. It also helped that I was on Christmas break too and did not have any homework.

Happy New Year!!

This was the first New Year Zachary was able to participate in. We put him to bed the last two years. Stewart purchased a bundle of fireworks from the Real ( it is like the Wal Mart of Germany). We made it home from Strasbourg by 10:30, so we played the Wii for a little bit, then headed outside to set off fireworks.

This is the kids getting ready for a loud one...

Here comes a loud one...

This is Zachary watching from inside the house after the loud one went off.

Actually a swirling firework came back at us on the porch. It was loud and scared Zachary. I held him for a few more fireworks, but he really wanted to get away from the noise. Thomas and Zachary do not like loud noises. So just after midnight I came inside with the boys to watch fireworks from our living room window. Stewart and Cassidy stayed outside until they couldn't breathe anymore because of the smoke. There were fireworks going off everywhere and our little valley filled up with smoke real quick. After a while we could not see anymore fireworks because of the smoke, but we could still hear them.
