A Lazy Sunday Afternoon

We came home from church today and the kids immediately shed their church clothes and opted for pajamas. I can't say that I blame them, I did the same. It was another chilly, dreary day. But Zachary found something to do.

Our family Super Hero...

Boys will be boys if you let them, at least they aren't fighting. And they are getting exercise and not sitting in front of the TV (of course that came later, so mom could take a nap in peace.)

Our poor downstairs neighbors, must have heard their ceiling pounding for an hour, but they have never complained.

Cassidy had to give it a try as well.

Girl Scout Sleepover

I volunteered to be a co-leader for Cassidy's Girl Scout troop this year. This is her first year as a Junior Girl Scout. We meet every other Friday after school. But tonight we had a sleepover. I was lucky enough to participate. We did all the regular girl things, hair, nails and glitter. Then came the fashion show. Which was too unorganized that it fell apart before it even started.

The judges for the fashion show.

We found a Karaoke machine in the back room and pulled it out. The girls had fun trying to sing, but most of them didn't know the songs. Which of course made it all the better. But the three leaders had a ball, singing and dancing to our favorite tunes "helping the girls".

We made a snack and watched a movie. Then finally it was lights out. Thank goodness for my I-Pod, I was able to fall asleep listening to my audio book and blocking out all the whispers and giggles.

Good Morning!!
Yes, we had several complaints that some of the girls were being too loud in the morning, but it was time to get up. Parents were coming and we needed to clean the hut. All in all, they had a good time.

Happy New Year 2011

We made it home from Strasbourg around 7:30pm. We played some games on the Wii and Playstation to keep the kids awake. Then just before midnight Stewart set up our fireworks on our back porch. The kids got their snow gear on and we went outside. Cassidy and Thomas sat at the table for most of the firework show. Zachary was at the table until Stewart set off the first firework, then he ran inside.

Stewart is lighting the rockets. These sent Zachary into hiding and I had to hold Thomas to keep him from running inside.

Thomas and I wore the glasses we got from EuropaPark to watch some of the fireworks. It turned them into shining snowflakes. I tried to capture it with the camera and this was the best I was able to get. You can see the snowflakes in the sparks that are flying.

Zachary is hiding out in the dining room. I had to coax him to at least come watch from the window. He wanted to hide under the table.
