Thinking Day

Girl Scout thinking day was interesting this year. In part because I was a co-leader and had to do some of the organizing. Our troop along with 5 other troops were given the country of Bolivia. It was so unorganized that even a week before Thinking Day we didn't really know what was going on. Then four of our 6 troops backed out. So our troop and a Daisy troop were left to figure things out. It turned out alright in the end, but I was thankful when it was over.

Cassidy and her friend are offering our Bolivian snacks to visiting scouts. We made cuñapes (cheese bread) and cocadas (coconut candies). Most everyone liked our treats. In fact we had to shoo away one girl that kept popping them into her mouth one after another. Another girl lied to me, saying that her leader asked her to come get one for her to try. As the girl walked away she popped them into her mouth, and then ran from my site when she saw I was looking at her. At the end of the program, we had a crowd of girls trying to find out if we had any left.

We also had a display about the Alpaca. Our girls taught others about the Alpaca and had on display scarves and sweaters made from Alpaca fleece.

We had the girls make a capybara swap. This scout is using the tape measure to show how large a capybara can be. Cassidy is dressed up a queen from somewhere, I don't remember.

Zachary is 4

This birthday cake is my attempt at L Drago the BeyBlade. Zachary thought it was a Spider BeyBlade. He liked it and that is what mattered, that and it tasted good.

Zachary came home after church and got dressed as Spider-man. He loves wearing this and running around shooting spider webs around the house.



























Present time!!

Perfect clothes for Zachary. Grandma Suzanne knew just what to get him. Mario and Star Wars shirts and How to Train your Dragon pajamas.

Checking out his How to Train your Dragon figures. Of course we had to watch the movie that night. The boys used the figures to act out the movie as it was playing.

Zachary got a BeyBlade stadium with two BeyBlades included. This is all the kids have been talking about for the last two months. The kids at school have them and are always playing with them before school in the halls. Thomas and Cassidy were able to save up enough money to purchase their own BeyBlade a few weeks ago, but Zachary had to wait until his birthday. He was so excited and wanted to FIGHT!!


























Even Stewart has his own BeyBlade and fought against the kids. Cassidy took hers to school and came home really happy one day. Her BeyBlade was the third best in her school. She said it would have been the best, but she can't pull the rip cord as hard as the boys can.

Get up and GO!!

This is what gets the boys up and going in the morning. They want to be the first ones to school so they can play in the Bettbälle (bed of balls). Only four kids can play in there at one time. This is their incentive to eat breakfast and get dressed fast.

Our new Kindergarten

The boys switched Kindergartens in January. This was done because this kindergarten would allow the boys to stay an hour longer and it was right next to Cassidy's school. I was supposed to be student teaching at the High School and this kindergarten was better suited for dropping off kids and picking them. Well, my student teaching didn't work out, but we kept them in this Kindergarten anyway. It is nice to just drop all three kids off at one place and one time.
