Well it isn't Texas football, but it is close. Cassidy played her first softball game under the lights. It was also her first time to pitch....EVER. She may have thrown a few around at practice, but not much. She had mostly wild pitches, but she did get a few good ones across the plate.

The First T-ball Game of the Season
The boys had their opening day today. Thomas played 1st base and I don't
know why I didn't get any pictures. But here is Zachary dressed up as
catcher. He liked that position, same one as his big sister. It was
really a fun game, but the Angels have a lot of work ahead of them if
they want to win.
Columbia Little League Opening Day
Columbia Little League starts off their Spring season with a parade and opening ceremonies. Unfortunately it was drizzling this morning and our floats lost their umpff. In fact the boy's t-ball float was ruined. This is what was left after the banner fell down and one of the players tumbled over the trailer rail. But most of the players didn't care, they were excited about throwing out candy to the spectators.
Opening ceremony on the field. They had the ROTC from Steven's High School to post the colors.
Cassidy didn't have a game today and the boys didn't play until the afternoon, so after the ceremony we headed back to the car. But the kids were kind enough to stop and pose for a picture. The yellow flowers reminded us of Germany.
Two Angels and a Ranger.

Star of the Month
Thomas was selected by his 1st grade teacher, Mrs. Antuna, to be the Star of the Month. This means he gets a cool certificate and gets to sit at the front of the gym during the monthly assembly. After the assembly I took him over to the dragon mural for a photo op. Forester Elementary is the dragons.
(On a side note: When we lived here before moving to Germany, Cassidy attended Ott Elementary. Forester was being built and if we would have stayed she would have attended 2nd grade here. So as a future student she got to vote for their mascot.)
Their name also gets announced during the assemble and so everyone cheers for them. Thomas kind of thought it was cool, but was leaning towards the who cares attitude. But he did like seeing his picture projected really big on the gym wall during the assembly.

Let the games begin
Softball season has officially started for the Grover's. In Cassidy's first game she played the first two innings in the pitcher's position. The first three innings were machine pitch, so she didn't actually pitch.
Then the last two innings she played catcher. We joined Columbia Little League and opening game we played at Helotes Little League. It was a fun start, though we didn't win.

Sunday at the Ranch
We had a little trip to the Ranch, we don't have an official name for it yet. So right now it is either the ranch (we do have cattle that graze on it) or the property. It was such good weather, we
couldn't pass it up. Stewart took some of his guns out to do a little
target practice. The rest of us just enjoyed the area. Thomas really likes going out with his dad. He always comes and tells me how well dad did after their target inspection.
So while dad shoots and Thomas gets to watch. Cassidy is busy picking flowers while Zachary is monkeying around on the trees.
Zachary is looking kind of cool with the ear protection on. Now he gets a turn to watch dad shoot. He missed this time and hit the water instead. Or was he trying to hit the frogs, I don't know.
We are packing it in and the kids are crammed in the back of the Jeep. Luckily they are not too big yet and there is still lots of room.

Texas Winter
It was such a beautiful day that the family went for a bike ride to our neighborhood park. The kids played on the playground and I snapped this picture. I needed a picture to go in a Valentine's picture frame that I have had empty for a few years. So I made the kids dress in Red, White and Pink. I love Texas winters.
