Thomas was selected by his 1st grade teacher, Mrs. Antuna, to be the Star of the Month. This means he gets a cool certificate and gets to sit at the front of the gym during the monthly assembly. After the assembly I took him over to the dragon mural for a photo op. Forester Elementary is the dragons.
(On a side note: When we lived here before moving to Germany, Cassidy attended Ott Elementary. Forester was being built and if we would have stayed she would have attended 2nd grade here. So as a future student she got to vote for their mascot.)
Their name also gets announced during the assemble and so everyone cheers for them. Thomas kind of thought it was cool, but was leaning towards the who cares attitude. But he did like seeing his picture projected really big on the gym wall during the assembly.
