"Take me out to the Ball Game"

We signed Cassidy and Thomas up for baseball this spring. This is our first time with baseball. We bought the whole family mitts. We also loaded up on baseballs, bases and a tee. So our spring is is busy, we have baseball five days a week. Also Thomas and Cassidy have had games at the same time 15 miles apart. It has been a very, very busy spring.

Cassidy playing shortstop. Her coach switched the kids around. He gives them all a chance to play different positions. Except pitcher, because only a few players can actually throw the ball over the plate. Cassidy thinks the outfield is boring, 3rd base isn't much better. She likes the dugout, she is able to cheer her team on from there.

Cassidy hit a home run on this game, she was so exited. She ran off the field yelling at me, "MOM did you see that!!" I think the best part was her team mates giving her high fives. The kids pitch to each other at this age. The player can strike out, or if they get 4 balls their coach steps in an gives them 4 pitches. At Cassidy's first game Stewart and I thought there was no way she would even hit the ball. But she hit a double and got an RBI. We were all really happy for her.

Cassidy playing catcher. We just need to instill in her a sense of urgency. She takes forever to get the balls she misses. But at least she does catch a few of the pitches.

This is what the boys do while Cassidy plays her game. Luckily the kids practice is at one of the elementary schools, so we are next to a playground. We also practice playing catch during practices and the games.
