Cassidy loved learning to play the recorder this year. She practiced all the time. She practiced when we walked to the mailbox, while driving home from school, driving to school and all the time while at home. The forth and fifth grade classes had a recorder concert tonight. It was fun and Cassidy was thrilled. The picture below is part of the two 5th grade classes.
All her practicing payed off. She was one of the three students who passed off all the songs and received her black belt. She was given a list of songs that varied with difficulty. As she passed off a song, she received a colored "belt", which was actually string to place on the end of her recorder.
The concert started off with all the students playing their recorders. But as they came up to another song only the students who had passed off those songs would play. So finally there was only three students playing the last two songs. Here is a video of her performance.
