Cassidy turned 11 today. She had her best friend sleep over last night and they spent the day together. They stayed up late talking and were slow movers in the morning. No wonder we don't do sleep overs very often. Then we had a water balloon fight in our back yard. Kayla even took some filled balloons home with her to get her sisters. We had an early party and took Cassidy out to TGIFriday's for her birthday dinner.
The girls were pretty happy about getting a snow cone machine and the syrup. Cassidy is always asking if she can make snow cones or ice cream. She just uses our crushed ice from the refrigerator and puts icee pop syrup on it. It is ok for a kid, but not as good as the real thing. She also makes her own ice cream in a ziploc bag with milk and hershey's syrup, again not great , but it will do in a pinch.
Cassidy couldn't decide what kind of birthday cake she wanted. She thought she wanted another flower cake, but changed her mind. She wanted brownies. So I nicely stacked them up and found sparkler candles. She really like her cake. Score one for me, it was easy. But in reality it was kind of frustrating. I have been using egg substitutes the past few months. So I tried them with the brownies. It didn't work, the first time or the second time. They tasted fine, but the consistency was all wrong. So we had lots of gooey, thin brownies to eat along with the real ones. I ended up buying eggs and making the brownies.
After our brownies, Cassidy and the rest of the kids plopped in front of the TV to watch Cassidy play EyePet on the Playstation 3. It was quite funny to watch her try to pet, scratch and play with it. Zachary and Thomas kept distracting her Pet. They would place their legs or hands in the play field, because they wanted to play too.
